Mark Meuser (Moy-zure), candidate for CA Secretary of State, will be stopping in Calaveras County on August 7th. Mark is on a 5,000 mile #ElectionsMatter Bicycling Tour and will be traveling to all 58 counties in California. Mark has visited counties that may have never seen a statewide candidate make an appearance. Calaveras is rarely, if ever, visited by a statewide candidate, let alone one that is bicycling here in the extreme heat of August! Mark departed for this tour on July 9th and will conclude it on August 23rd at Huntington Beach. Thus far, Mark has bicycled over 1,700 miles and has visited over 22 counties.

The Secretary of State is the chief elections officer in the state and is responsible for auditing the counties to ensure that they maintain clean voter rolls. He is also responsible for registering business licenses and oversees the filing and campaign finance of candidates running for public office. Mark Meuser is a seasoned business and elections law attorney and is well qualified to run for the office of Secretary of State. California has the second worst elections in the United States. It is clear that a new man is needed on the job!

A meet and greet fundraiser for Mr. Meuser will be held Tuesday, August 7th at the Pickle Patch at 5:30pm. A full dinner and dessert will be served. It promises to be a fun filled evening with awesome silent auction items and community networking. Seating is limited. $35 per ticket. RSVP to Ashley Skeen, 209-286-9805,
