Crews stomp out Rail Road Flat fire

A structure and brushfire Monday afternoon in the Rail Road Flat area burned a quarter acre valued at $100 and the public expense of putting it out.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. It was reported at 3:30 p.m. at 3845 Paramae Gulch Road in Rail Road Flat; by 8:30 Monday night crews had mopped up remaining embers and the incident was closed.

Taking part in the fire’s suppression were several Cal Fire units: from Columbia, an Air Attack plane, a helicopter and two water tankers; from West Point, a battalion chief and two engines; from San Andreas, one engine; from Altaville, a dozer; from Esperanza, one engine; from Vallecito, two hand crews.
