A fire near Lake Camanche, off Brady Court in Burson, took firefighters just 45 minutes to contain on Saturday after it began spreading through the rural grassy area, according to the Foothill Fire Protection District.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation, said Barbara George, CalFire public affairs officer. Two to three acres were burned, causing $400 to $600 worth of damages to the grasslands.

Foothill Fire arrived on scene about seven minutes after East Bay Municipal Utility District called in the fire around 12:30 p.m.; CalFire arrived shortly thereafter. East Bay MUD was also on scene.
Also responding were a Columbia Air Attack plane, two helicopters, one tanker, eight engines and two bulldozers, George said. Two prevention officers are investigating the fire’s origin.

The fire took less than an hour to contain, according to Foothill Fire, but firefighters spent more than three hours scraping down the earth around the burn areas.

The incident was closed at 10:16 pm, according to George.
