Liberty Institute USA a local non-profit has announced its inaugural Constitution day poster contest event.

The event is set for September 16 that the Sonora Opera Hall. This is a family friendly event that showcases our nations heritage and celebrates the American Constitution.

This event is driven by a K-12 Poster Contest with Cash prizes and is designed to a be fun and interactive family learning experience. The event open from 4:00-5:45, and guests will experience a Colonial theme celebrating the adoption of the Constitution, 1787.

There will be roving artisans and a Constitution corner with a Constitution Expert on hand for questions and interactive games. A special prize will be given to those who come in Colonial era costume.

There will also be lots of Raffle prizes and live Colonial music. For those children wishing to experience a real Colonial dinner to be served at 6:00,he or she must submit a handmade poster showing how You and your family benefit from the freedoms embodied In the U.S. Constitution only 50 entries will be accepted to be turned in by September 1st the latest toLiberty Hall, 161. S. Washington Street Sonora.

  • • Your poster can feature any aspect of the Constitution
  • • Make it Colorful! Be creative! Cash prizes of 1st place $100.00 2nd place $80.00, 3rd place $60.00, 4th Place $40.00, 5th Place $20.00 - a free pocket Constitution to all entrants.

Bring that poster into downtown Liberty Hall, 161 S. Washington and receive one child and one parent/guardian ticket to the dinner.

Additional tickets may be purchased for $50.00 each. Liberty institute USA located in Liberty Hall in downtown Sonora promotes children’s literacy through great American Heritage books and programs.

The Hall is a learning resource center for children’s American heritage literature, citizenship and economic prosperity. Liberty Institute was created by a group of local citizens who believe that children’s understanding of Liberty and the Constitution is vital to the fabric of a vibrant and healthy community.
