Calaveras County Board of Supervisors is made up of five elected officials, each representing their unique District. County supervisors should vote to reflect the wishes of the district he/she represents.

District 5 candidate Ben Stopper is currently employed by Calaveras County Water District. CCWD is raising our water and sewer rates. Mr. Stopper’s wife is employed by the County of Calaveras. Mr. Stopper accepted $1000.00 campaign contribution from the union that represents Calaveras County employees. In future matters before the Board this could present a conflict of interest.

The simple solution could be for Mr. Stopper to recuse himself from voting on issues where a conflict exists. Unfortunately it’s not that simple. By giving up his vote, Mr. Stopper would be giving up the vote of all of the residents in District 5. District 5 would have no voice and no representation!

It is very important we choose a Supervisor that can vote on ALL matters brought before the Board. We must elect a Supervisor that does not have ties to outside interests. Make sure your vote will count and make sure your voice will be heard. Vote for Bruce Giudici.
