Congratulations are in order for Calaveras High School's Skyler Hoeke and Toyon Middle School's Alyssa Koenig and Wyatt Leatherman after bringing home medals at the inaugural California National Archery in the Schools Program State Tournament.

Hundreds of archers lined up their shot in an attempt to leave Sierra College in Rocklin with a first-place medal.

Hoeke earned a first-place medal in the high school division by shooting a 278. Koenig was awarded a first-place medal, and Wyatt Leatherman earned a third-place medal in the middle school class.

Toyon finished second overall in the team standings behind Excelsior Middle School. Toyon scored 2860, just 50 points behind Excelsior. Calaveras High School did not have enough archers to qualify for the team award. Each team needed at least 12 archers.
