Doug Archer recently began work as the new president and chief executive officer of Dignity Health Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas.
Archer comes from a 20-year background with Sutter Health, and was president of that health system’s Sutter Health-Memorial Hospital Los Banos, a 40-bed hospital and rural health clinic.
“I am honored to join the amazing team of caregivers at Mark Twain Medical Center,” Archer said in a press release issued by MTMC. “I am thrilled about living in Calaveras County! I am very optimistic about the future of health care delivery in this county and plan to work closely with the community to ensure the hospital and clinics continue to provide exceptional care.”
Archer will be tasked with continuing MTMC’s role as a regional health care leader, expanding programs, services and specialties, and ensuring quality care through his new role.
According to the release, Archer is a member of ACHE/California Association of Healthcare Leaders, is a member of the Advisory Council for Los Banos Boys and Girls Club, is active with Relay for Life and coaches youth basketball programs.
Archer is an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hiking, camping and snowboarding. He has been married for 18 years and has two children.
The new MTMC president and CEO began work on March 18.
