The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office has requested the assistance of the public in finding a presumed runaway teen, according to a news release.

Kayla Faith Black, 16, was last seen at approximately 4 p.m. on Jan. 6, and is believed to have been picked up by an unknown person from her Mountain Ranch home. She had allegedly been communicating with an individual from Tracy.

Black previously lived in Livermore, and investigators believe that she may have returned to that area.

Although the teen took her phone with her, law enforcement has been unable to track her using GPS as the phone has been shut off and location settings have likely been disabled.

Black is described as being 5’5” tall, weighing 100 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair, though she may often dye her hair different colors. She has a history of mental health issues and did not take her medications with her upon leaving, though she is not believed to be a danger to herself, according to the release.

Those with any information are encouraged to contact Detective Ken Grognet with the Sheriff’s Office at 209-754-6500 or leave an anonymous tip at 209-754-6030.
