Shannon Scott, 65, has been missing since August. His vehicle was discovered on April 8 with a body inside that has yet to be identified. 

The human remains found in the car belonging to previously missing Wilseyville resident Shannon Scott have been positively identified as Scott by the DOJ (Department of Justice).

Scott has been missing since Aug. 29, 2018 and was reported missing by his daughter Shaylee Scott on Aug. 31. Scott’s vehicle was discovered off to the side of State Route 16 in Amador county on April 8.

According to a press release from the Amador County Sheriff's Office, “DNA samples from the decedent, along with personal effects from Shannon Scott were submitted to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) for analysis. DOJ determined both sample profiles were the same. The Amador County Sheriff’s Office has officially determined the deceased individual located in the vehicle is Shannon Scott.”

The Amador County Sheriff's office confirmed on May 29 that the cause of death was ”Blunt Impact Neck and Thoracic Injuries” and the cause of death is being ruled as accidental.
