A suspected drunk driver struck three vehicles parked along South Main Street in Angels Camp on May 20 and was later arrested after fleeing the scene.

Richard Davis, 47, of Jackson was reportedly seen by witnesses late Monday afternoon hitting the three vehicles with his car and causing minor damage, according to the Angels Camp Police Department. Davis’ vehicle was identified shortly after by a California Highway Patrol officer on Highway 49 near Lombardi Street in San Andreas.

Upon searching the suspect’s vehicle, officers found a .22 caliber firearm and ammunition. Davis was found to be under the influence of alcohol, according to the police department, and was booked into the Calaveras County jail.

Davis faces charges related to DUI, hit-and-run and possession of a concealed firearm.
