Two teens were injured at 3:30 p.m. Saturday when a quad crashed on Forest Service road 6N71Y in Dorrington , according to a report from the California Highway Patrol.
Megan Almash, 17, Gilroy, was operating a 2006 Polaris and Kelcey Shaw, 16, San Jose, was riding in the passenger seat, the report said.
Almash was driving the quad westbound and as she attempted to negotiate a downhill left hand curve, the bright sunlight impaired her vision and without slowing down, she continued in a southwesterly direction off the road where the quad struck a cedar tree, the report said. Both teens were ejected and each sustained moderate injuries, the report continued.
Almash was transported via air ambulance to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento and Shaw was taken to Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital in San Andreas, the report concluded.
