17th annual Mother Lode VW show dazzles

Volkswagen Beetles ranging from the early 1950s and beyond grace the lawns at Utica Park July 26 during the 17th annual Mother Lode VW Show.

A sense of automotive nostalgia swept into Angels Camp July 26 as dozens of Volkswagens descended upon Utica Park for the 17th annual Mother Lode Volkwagen Club Volkswagen show and swap meet.

Row upon row of Volkswagens lined the edges of the park; from vans to Things, Ghias to Beetles and even a few creatively engineered and modified designs.

Judging was broken down by years, models, makes and under construction.

The event was hosted in conjunction with the Tri-Dam Lions Club.
