Angels Camp resident
Gene “Geno” Leslie Roberts of Angels Camp died of natural cause Friday, May 17, 2013. He was 57.
He was born July 13, 1955 in Eugene, Ore., and he spent his childhood years mowing lawns, fishing and playing Little League baseball. He also belonged to the Indian Guides. After a family move to California in 1968, he attended Del Mar High School in San Jose and graduated in 1973. He lived and worked in the Bay Area for many years until moving in 1990 to Calaveras County, where he spent the remaining 23 years of his life.
Mr. Roberts enjoyed spending time family and friends, riding his Harley and “fixing stuff.”
Mr. Roberts is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Thomas) Akers of Paso Robles; a son, Jacob (Lindsay) Roberts of Andover, Minn.; his sisters, Beth Skillern of Portland, Ore., Carolyn Hamm of Herndon, Va., and Cheryl Roberts of Murphys; two granddaughters; and five nieces and nephews.
