Jonathan Elliot Giuffra of Valley Springs died unexpectedly in his sleep Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012. He was 27.
A San An-dreas native, Mr. Giuffra was born Oct. 14, 1984, at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital. He grew up in San Andreas and attended Calaveras High School.
He enjoyed camping at the ocean, listening to music, playing with his kids and nieces and nephews and spending a lot of time with friends and family.
Mr. Giuffra is survived by his wife Tina; sons Jonathan and Christopher; daughter Paityn; father Gerald (Kathy) Giuffra II of San Andreas; mother Linda (Christopher) McCasland of Isleton; brothers Jerry (Heather) Giuffra III of Ione, James Giuffra of San Andreas, Jacob Giuffra of San Francisco and Christopher (Elizabeth) McCasland of Angels Camp; sisters Jennifer Anderson of Lodi and Dawn West of Thornton; grandparents Carmen Giuffra of San Andreas and Donna Butler of Cedar City, Utah; great-grandmother Vera Yates of Cedar City, Utah; aunts Debbie Sellick of Arnold, Shawna Roberts of Washington and Rebecca Kois of Oklahoma; uncles Mike Johnson of Stockton, Joseph Meganna of Livermore, Warren Pool of Sacramento and Walter Fred Pool of Tehachapi; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Gerald Giuffra I.
A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Friday, Jan. 20, at Angels Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will follow at the chapel at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any El Dorado Savings Bank to benefit the Jonathan Giuffra children.
