Carol Ann Gordon

Carol Ann Gordon of Murphys California passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2019. Carol was born on December 26, 1945 in Port Chester, NY. She was first born to Haskell and Carolyn Peddicord. Carol spent most of her childhood years in Cincinnati, Ohio growing up with two beloved brothers Tom and Haskell.

Carol graduated from Finneytown High School in 1964. She went to the University of Wisconsin and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. Carol persued her passion for education and later earned her Master in Arts from the University of San Fransisco.

Carol started teaching grade school in the local area in 1972 at the Murphys Grammar School. She spent a total of 27 years with the Vallecito School District. In addition, to her unwavering dedication to education she displayed unwavering dedication to her community by volunteering her time as a coach and master gardener.

Carol was married to James Gordon from 1971-1993. They had two children Heather and Holly Gordon born in 1974 and 1976 respectively.

Carol was an active member of the Murphys Community Church, The Master Gardeners, The Daffodil Society and a School Board Member of Vallecito Union School District. She was a generous donor to many advocacy groups.

She is survived by her two daughters and three grandchildren Zia, Ione and Sabian Houston.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Murphys during the summer of 2019. Event details will be forthcoming.
