It was the allure of colorful candy-filled eggs that gathered 200 children from around the Mother Lode to Murphys-Angels Lion Club’s annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys.

Arriving three hours before the masses, the Lions laid about 4,500 eggs around Ironstone’s grassy amphitheater and rolling hills, and the age-divided egg hunts – which lasted significantly less than planned for, due to the hunters’ voracity and swiftness – carried on for just more than one happy hour.
