Hundreds of Calaveras High School students swarmed through San Andreas, teeming with energy and school spirit on Sept. 21.
Homecoming week for the student body culminated in a parade south up Highway 49, then east on Main Street where teens, parents and the community gathered for a rally to celebrate.
A cacophony of cheers, music and chatter exploded throughout the crowded street as student coordinators held contests for most school spirit. It all came to a crescendo as seniors had a balloon pop race and then a rap battle.
The event ended with the pronouncement of prom king. Calaveras High School senior Zack Nordahl was bestowed with the honor. Prom queen will be announced at the football game against Oakland’s Stellar Prep, 7 p.m., at Frank Meyer Field.
