Congressman Tom McClintock is a borrow-and-spend Republican. The Republicans are fond of demonizing the tax-and-spend Democrats as profligate spenders, but the pay-as-you-go Democrats are doing what they’re supposed to be doing – they’re paying the bills! That’s what the Constitution says congress is supposed to do.
“Taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society.” (Oliver Wendell Holmes, U.S. Supreme Court, 1904)
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Article I, Section. 8.
Clause 1: The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general Welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
Clause 2: To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;
Borrowing money on the credit of the United States to pay the bills is DOUBLE taxation. Borrow-and-spend Republicans borrowed and spent $3 trillion of “SURPLUS” Social Security funds when there was a surplus. That was tax money that we the people had already paid in. Now, we the people have to pay the taxes to pay back what they borrowed from us! Cut and spend! Borrow and spend! Mr. McClintock has never seen a tax cut or corporate giveaway he didn’t like.
Those so called “fiscal conservatives” have already cut and borrowed us $22 trillion into debt. When are they going to start collecting taxes to pay the bills AND pay back the $22 trillion they already borrowed and spent?
The federal budget deficit was $779 billion for 2018. The deficit will be $984 billion for 2019. The accumulated deficits form the national debt. The national debt is $22 thousand billion dollars – and these guys are still handing out tax cuts and corporate giveaways to the richest of the rich who don’t need it. Giving General Motors a tax cut doesn’t produce more cars or more jobs. They’re already producing all they can sell. Now, Mr. McClintock and his Republican cronies are trying to cut Social Security benefits from the people they have already robbed. They’re trying to rob us again, and then WE have to pay taxes to pay back what they robbed from US “on the credit of the United States.” Get that guy out of there!
