I live on Silver Rapids Road, within a mile of the rock quarry below New Hogan Dam. I have attended two meetings of the planning commission that dealt with a prospective asphalt plant at the quarry.

At each of these meetings, there were approximately 50 residents of Valley Springs present who expressed their concerns and objections to such a plan. I feel these concerns were quite valid and reasonable, but I also feel that the commission already made up its mind and concerns fell on deaf ears.
