Calaveras’ Nordahl and Weatherby to play in all-star game

Logan Weatherby and Zack Nordahl will get the opportunity to represent Calaveras High School baseball one more time. The senior duo has been selected to play in the 23rd annual High School Baseball All-Star Game Friday, June 14, at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.

Nordahl and Weatherby are both three-year varsity players. Nordahl, who pitched all three years, finished the year as a first-team Mother Lode League player. In three years on Calaveras’ varsity squad, Nordahl has nine wins with an era of 3.54 and 134 strikeouts in 140.1 innings of work. At the plate, he had a career average of .309 with 55 hits, 31 runs scored, 32 RBIs, 11 doubles, one triple, 16 walks and 16 stolen bases.

As for Weatherby, he has a career batting average of .318 with 69 hits, 41 runs scored, 50 RBIs, 18 doubles, one home run, 30 walks, was hit by 26 pitches and has a slugging percentage of .414.

First pitch for the all-star game is set for 4:45 p.m.
