Calaveras Jr. Reds Varsity beats Argonaut

The Calaveras Jr. Reds varsity football team defeated Argonaut 22-15 Saturday. Braeden Orlandi had 117 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Kevin Cross rushed for 62 yards. Logan Parmaly had 42 yards rushing. And quarterback Jay Clifton had a 10-yard touchdown pass to Cody Batterton.

Defensively, Orlandi had a rumble recovery.

Calaveras (6-1) will have a monster battle with Sonora (6-1) Saturday in San Andreas.

Calaveras Jr. Reds JV

Calaveras Jr. Reds JV team lost to Argonaut 22-7. Calaveras’ only score was on a Max Gonzales fumble recovery and return of 43 yards. Gonzales also had 35 yards rushing and Kody Rodriguez had 34 yards on the ground. Caden Spurr recorded seven tackles.

Calaveras Jr. Reds Novice

Calaveras Jr. Reds Novice team blanked Argonaut 34-0. Aaron Koepp threw touchdowns to Easton Kneiss (9 yards) and Payden Long (10 yards) as well as rushing for a 1-yard score. Koepp also hit Long for a 48-yard completion. Colton Ray rushed for a 37-yard touchdown and Owen Shahan ran a sweep in for a 5-yard score.

Defensively, Kathan Kavanagh recovered two fumbles and one onside kick. Chris Fowler recovered a fumble. Corbin Moore recovered an onside kick. Colton Ray recorded a sack and Kneiss snagged an interception.
