Cougars are champs

The Copperopolis Elementary School sixth-grade volleyball team won the 36th annual AMA sixth-grade volleyball championship. The Cougars are made up of only six players and call themselves “The Six Pack.” Copperopolis lost its first match of the season to San Andreas in three sets, but went on to win 12 in a row to finish with a 12-1 record. The title is Copperopolis’ second in three years and fourth in the past decade. The Cougars have made the final four every year since 2010. Copperopolis is made up of Rylee Banks, Emerson Arbulich, Amelia Baxter, Isabella Vidales, Aniela Grycel and Aubrey Butterfield. Banks and Arbulich were placed on the all-tournament team.
