Mark Twain 8th grade basketball successful in South Lake Tahoe

The Mark Twain 8th grade boys' basketball team pose with a trophy won in South Lake Tahoe. 

On January 12-14, the Mark Twain Elementary School’s 8th grade boys’ basketball team attended the 53rd Annual Winter Classic Basketball Tournament in South Lake Tahoe.

Mark Twain took on Seven Hills in its opening game and lost 50-34. Seven Hills ended up losing to Martinez in the finals. Following the loss to Seven Hills, Mark Twain moved into the consolation bracket and defeated Magnolia 45-40. Later in the day, Mark Twain faced Ione and was victorious 43-28.

Following its two wins, Mark Twain played for first place in the consolation bracket against Lake Tahoe and came out with a 56-36 win, earning the consolation trophy.
