Bradley Fuller’s right arm must be tired. After wrestling in six matches at Escalon’s Lloyd Engel Invitational on Jan. 5 and 6, Fuller had his arm raised in victory each time. The Calaveras junior finished the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record, which included five pins.
“I was pretty happy with my performance,” Fuller said. “I wrestled well and it was a good overall tournament.”
Fuller wrestled at 195 pounds, which isn’t his normal weight class. Although he is a 195-pound wrestler, he typically competes in the 220-pound class. The two-day tournament was the first time all season that Fuller wrestled at his natural 195-pound class.
Fuller was Calaveras High School’s only undefeated wrestler and won the “A” division at the tournament. He picked up three wins the first day and three the second. When it comes to fatigue, that didn’t seem to matter once the whistle was blown.
“Once the match starts, the fatigue isn’t really there anymore,” Fuller said. “The adrenaline really kicks in.”
