Spring football is underway

Calaveras football had its first spring practice Tuesday at Frank Meyer Field in San Andreas.

The Calaveras High School football team returned to the gridiron for its first spring practice of the year Tuesday at Frank Meyer Field in San Andreas. Thirty-eight players hit the field for the first official practice under new head coach Doug Clark.

Calaveras will wrap up its spring practices on Friday. Summer workouts begin June 10 and will take place Mondays through Thursdays. Monday and Wednesday practices will run from 4-7 p.m., while Tuesday and Thursday practices will be from 5-7 p.m.

On Thursday, May 30, all male Calaveras students can receive their yearly physicals after school at Mike Flock Gymnasium. The cost is $20. All football players must have their physicals before the end of the dead period on July 29, or else they will not be permitted to practice.
