“Claim your seats for an event to die for!” enthuses an AmadorArts release. The arts council presents the sixth annual Murder Mystery Scholarship Fundraiser on three nights in April because the event has gotten so popular. The AmadorArts Board of Directors presents performances at 6 p.m. April 23, 24 and 25 at the Italian Benevolent Society Party Hall, 581 Highway 49, Martell.

The fundraisers feature dinners prepared by the Italian Benevolent Society’s kitchen crew, along with a no-host bar and drawings.

The world premier murder mystery play this year is “another over-the-top original created by Rocky Lane” called “As the Stomach Turns.” Be ready for a bellyful of laughs and see how the talent of the stars (local residents you might know) keep you guessing during the comedic whodunit. The show is “light on memorized words and heavy on improv,” the arts council said. The “best detectives” earn prizes.

Proceeds from the mysteries support annual AmadorArts Scholarships awarded to graduating seniors pursuing the arts in their higher learning.

Tickets are $35 each, including dinner, dessert and all the fun. There is limited seating and tickets are only sold in advance at amadorarts.org.

“Those who wait too long to get tickets may be disappointed, as this event often sells out,” the release said. There is also free parking.
