The Angels Camp Post Office celebrated the installation of Christine Hollander as the Postmaster of Angels Camp on Nov. 1.

While there were plenty of laughs, all the stories reflected the same theme: Christine’s dedication to her job to ensure the best customer service.Several people shared stories of her past . Hollander also shared a few words, thanking co-workers and her family, for all their support over the years.

“It’s a huge undertaking,” Hollander said. “It’s such a huge responsibility. I’m not only responsible for all of my customers, I’m responsible for my clerks, my carriers, my office. It’s a huge privilege and honor to serve this community.”

She lives in Jamestown with her husband and children. She used to work in Jamestown before transferring. She worked as a rural carrier for 11 years.

She wanted to get promoted, however, and a former boss gave her the opportunity to do so. She was provided training to further her career. She became a relief supervisor, and worked through her training so that when the position of Postmaster opened up, she had the qualifications needed to apply and was selected.

Her motto is: “I can’t change tomorrow, and tomorrow is going to change. I can only work on today to make it the best I can. Since everything is always changing at the post office on a daily basis, this is the motto Hollander has come to rely on.”
