A San Andreas woman was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly shooting a man through the doorway of her mobile home on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 1330 Calaveritas Road, the Oak Shadows Mobile Home Park, in San Andreas for a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, deputies learned of a domestic dispute between a 50-year-old man and the alleged suspect, Carol Soares, 66, of San Andreas. Both Soares and the victim are residents of the mobile home park.

Detectives learned that Soares allegedly fired a shot through the doorway of her mobile home, injuring the man in the process. The victim sustained minor injuries to the face, and later sought treatment at a local hospital on his own volition. Witnesses reported hearing an argument prior to the gunshot. It was later revealed that the two were allegedly arguing over a vehicle prior to the shooting.

Soares was arrested for charges related to attempted murder and booked into Calaveras County Jail. Her bail was set at $2 million. No further information is available at this time.
