Psychiatric technician
Arthur Boyd Parsons died of natural causes Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at his home in Murphys. He was 85.
A native of Lostine, Ore., Mr. Parsons was born Oct. 8, 1921. He previously lived in Modesto for many years before making his home in Murphys for the past 27 years. He worked for 30 years as a psychiatric technician for the state hospital system.
Mr. Parsons was a member of Ophir Bear Mountain Masonic Lodge 33, and Order of Eastern Star Crescent Chapter 165 in Murphys. He was a member of Ben Ali Shrine and Scottish Rite Bodies in Stockton, as well as a member of the Church of the Brethren in Modesto, and of the Independent Order of Foresters.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Parsons of Murphys; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Don Allen.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the Angels Memorial Chapel in Angels Camp. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Angels Memorial Chapel. He will be laid to rest in Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys.
