DAVIS – Bret Harte High senior Caitlin Locke shot a 6-over-par 79 in Monday’s Sac-Joaquin Section Masters tournament at Wildhorse Golf Club to earn a spot in next week’s CIF Northern California Regional Championship at Yolo Fliers Club in Woodland.
Locke became the first Bret Harte girl to advance to NorCals as one of the top four individual finishers not on one of three qualifying teams.
Bret Harte, the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V champion, finished 10th out of 13 teams with a five-player score of 484.
St. Francis of Sacramento won the tournament with a 409, followed by McClatchy with a 416, and Lodi with a 442.
Nicole Ferrero of Lodi took medalist honors with an impressive 4-under-par 69.
Also for Bret Harte, Shannon Woodward shot an 89, Colleen Smith shot a 91, Kirsten Locke shot a 92, and Emily Lilly shot a 133.
