Korean War veteran
James “Jim” F. Mitchell died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, in San Pablo after a lengthy illness. He was 72.
Born March 15, 1933, in Hanford, Jim lived with his family near Mountain Ranch since 1972. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and retired from Calaveras County, where he was Supervisor of the Building and Grounds Department, after 23 years.
He is survived by wife Ethel of Mountain Ranch; daughters, Robin Konz and Cori Terrio of San Pablo; and son Stephen Mitchell of San Pablo; and five grandchildren.
A family memorial and celebration of Jim’s life will be held at his daughter’s home in San Pablo on Saturday.
