Apprentice engineer
James “Jimmy” G. Luna of Valley Springs died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, in Stockton. He was 20.
Mr. Luna, a native of Stockton, was graduated from Calaveras High School in 2000. He was employed as an apprentice operating engineer by Teichert Construction and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 3.
Mr. Luna enjoyed basketball, baseball and wakeboarding, and appreciated his many family and friends.
He leaves his parents, Louis and Patricia Luna, and brother, Louis Jr. and Peter Luna, all of Valley Springs. He also is survived by his grandparents, Carlos and Virginia Luna of Watsonville, and grandmother, Maida Kelley of Blythe, as well as by numerous aunts and uncles.
A rosary will be recited at Cherokee Memorial Chapel at 7:30 tonight. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrews Catholic Church in San Andreas.
A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately afterward at the Old Burson Firehouse and Community Center.
The family prefers memorials in the form of donations to the James Luna Memorial Fund at Central Sierra Bank, P.O. Box 759, San Andreas, CA 95249.
