JUST IN TIME – Calaveras County Supervisors on Monday symbolically accepted two new water tenders for the San Andreas Fire District and the Foothills Fire District, which were parked for the occasion at the Government Center in San Andreas. The trucks, with a 3,000-gallon capacity each, will be ready for service by the end of the week, after all of the loose equipment, such as hand tools, hoses and axes are placed on board the trucks. “I feel like a spoiled brat getting both of these,” said Supervisor Lucy Thein, sitting in the cab of one of the water tenders. “It’s been a long time coming and they are in dire need.” Enterprise photo by Vanessa Turner
