In April Shauna Brantley of San Andreas, a Natural Horsemanship trainer, along with her horse Solar Flare competed with more than 1,000 contestants nationwide and won a coveted spot on America’s Favorite Trail Horse competition, which appears weekly on HRTV, The Network for Horse Sports.

The American Competitive Trail Horse Association-sponsored competition was held in Austin, Texas, and included endurance, obstacles, jumping and freestyle. Monty Roberts and his horse Dusty were just some of the celebrities in attendance.

Brantley’s understanding of the nature of horses and skill as a trainer was evident in her relationship with Solar Flare and what they are able to accomplish as a team. The duo appeared on Tuesday’s episode of America’s Favorite Trail Horse, looking to get enough votes to advance to the finals in November.
