Former secretary
Pearl Marrone died of natural causes Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento. She was 91.
Born Aug. 27, 1915, in Chicago, Mrs. Marrone moved to Los Angeles in 1931. In 1944 she moved to Palmdale, Calif., where she became the first female president of the Palmdale Board of Realtors. She was also past president of the VFW Auxiliary. She was the secretary/treasurer of the Mosquito Abatement District.
She moved to San Andreas in 1988 and served two terms as a member of the Calaveras County Grand Jury. She was also a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in San Andreas.
She is survived by son Jim Marrone Jr. of San Andreas; daughter Santa Marrone of San Andreas; sister Stella Rose Mezenbach of Hemet, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Peoples Cemetery in San Andreas.
