Salsa sizzles at Stevenot

The highly acclaimed Latin Magic Band returns to the Stevenot Winery tomorrow for the sixth annual Salsa Party from 7 to 10 p.m.

One of the Central Valley’s most energetic and versatile Latin acts, the band performs a wide range of styles including cumbias, tejano, boleros and oldies but goodies. The 10 members hail from Stockton, Sacramento and the Bay Area and have been performing for over 12 years.

The group has appeared at the Festival de la Familia, the Bay Area Blues Society Festival, at Lake Tahoe, the Vallejo Onion Festival and the Stockton Asparagus Festival. They have also shared the bill with the likes of Tito Puente, Eddie Palmeri and Pete and Sheila Escovedo.

“It’s a great party,” said Cynthia Gomes, events coordinator for the winery, “and it’s a great time for all.”

Fantastic cuisine will be available by Christina’s Authentic Homemade Mexican Food, and fine Stevenot wines, beer and sodas will be sold. Guests are remembered to bring a low-backed chair and blanket, along with their dancing shoes and friends. No coolers will be allowed inside the grounds.

Tickets are only $10 and will be available at the door. Call 728-3436, extension 13 or visit www.stevenotwinery.com for more information.
