Thomas Trier died July 27 at Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas surrounded by his family. He was78
Mr. Trier was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc., May 31, 1935.
He attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and graduated with a bachelor of science and a teaching credential.
Mr. Trier worked as a sixth grade teacher until he moved to California with his family in 1960.
He worked for Harcourt Brace and Addison Wesley Publishing Companies. At age 59, he found his way back to his true passion of teaching when he taught at the juvenile hall in San Leandro.
Retiring in 2009, he moved closer to his family and moved to Murphys.
Mr. Trier is survived by his ex-wife of 33 years Raghnild Trier; his children, Threse Deane of Camp Connell, Chris Trier of Scotts Valley and Alie Trier-Eshe of Gardnerville, Nev.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Sept. 14 at the home of Threse Deane in Camp Connell.
