Virginia “Carol” Sears of Ione, a Realtor, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at her home. She was 65.
A native of Clovis, N.M., she was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and was active for 31 years in the real estate business. She also worked at Wal-Mart for 10 years.
She leaves her husband of 37 years, Tom Sears of Ione; daughter Staci Sears of Ione, brother Larry Niskern and his wife Millie of Stockton, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson. A funeral service will be held at the mortuary at 1 p.m. Thursday. Inurnment will be at Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson.
The family prefers memorials in the form of donations to Hospice of Amador County, P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642, or to the American Cancer Society, 1765 Challenge Way, Suite 115, Sacramento, CA 95815.
