Johann Sebastian Bach is honored and celebrated with the 41st annual Sonora Bach Festival in October.

The Sonora Bach Festival presents its 41st season during October. Concerts are staged throughout Tuolumne County to provide the community opportunities to hear fine local and visiting musicians of all ages perform the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and others.

The festival is designed to provide unusual and high-quality performances of classical music for the Central Sierra community performed by guest artists and accomplished area musicians, says a release. This year, guest violinist and violist Lisa Grodin, who is also a member of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and American Bach Soloists, is featured at the Salon Concert. Tuolumne County resident and recent San Francisco State University graduate Will Kiel is the guest classical guitar soloist at the Youth Concert.

The series includes:

• Youth Finalists Concert at 3 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Church of the 49ers in Columbia. This concert features Mother Lode youths selected from auditions held Sept. 24. Classical guitarist Kiel is the invited guest soloist. Tickets are $5 for adults and those younger than 18 get in free.

Admission for concert and buffet is $35; advance reservations are required.
