Calaveras High boys soccer car wash

The Calaveras High boys soccer team is holding a fundraiser car wash this Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Chevron in Valley Springs and Treat’s in San Andreas.

Calaveras High Mini Football Clinic

The CHS Mini Football Clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 27, at the Calaveras High football field. The clinic is open to all players ages 7-14. Cost is $20 pre-registered before July 23 and $25 day of clinic. Cost includes camp shirt. Registration forms available at freeteams.net/CalaverasFootball/ or calaverasjrredskins.org. Right after the camp on the CHS football field, the Calaveras Junior Redskins will hold mandatory equipment distribution from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Crazy Eights Trail Run

The second event of the On Your Mark Events Crazy Eights Trail Run Series will be held July 28 at Lake Camanche’s South Shore, and the last event will be held Aug. 25 at Los Vaqueros Reservoir in Brentwood. The trail runs are 8K long. Cost is $40 pre-registered at onyourmarkevents.com or $45 on day of race. For more information or to register visit onyourmarkevents.com.

Calaveras Quarterback Club Dinner

Calaveras Football is proud to announce that they are taking over the Quarterback Club Dinner and BIG Raffle, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, at San Andreas Town Hall. For ticket information or to reserve a spot, call Jason Weatherby at 772-2161.

Youth soccer coaching clinic

A United States Soccer Association  “F” License class will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, at Mountain Oaks School in San Andreas. This class is the first license to get if you want to coach youth soccer. This is an excellent class for new or newer coaches and especially for coaches of younger players. This class and licensing is being offered as a joint venture between EPYSL and the Calaveras Youth Soccer League. For EPYSL coaches, the cost of the class is being paid for by the league. Calaveras High athletic physicals

For all Calaveras High students planning playing a sport at CHS for the 2013-14 school year, athletic physicals will be held Tuesday, Aug. 6, for girls and Wednesday, Aug. 7 for boys immediately after school in the Mike Flock Gymnasium.  Cost will be $20 with checks made payable to Calaveras Athletics (cash/checks only accepted).  Make sure you have the physical form in hand when coming that day (filled out completely with all necessary info and signatures).  They can be found online at calaverashighschool.com.  Girls are asked to wear a bathing suit top, sports bra or the like.  Any questions, please contact Mike Koepp, athletic director at 754-1811, ext. 5303.

7-on-7 adult soccer tournament

Bear Valley hosts its second annual adult 7-on-7 soccer tournament Saturday, Aug. 10. Teams must have two women on the field at any time in any position. Full-width field, but shortened. Full-size goals. Men age over 32, women over 20 (with special circumstances considered for younger women).  $35 per player includes T-shirt, barbecue dinner, field and refs. Register as a whole team (10 players is perfect size) or individuals wishing to be placed on a team to be formed later are also welcome. Ebbetts Pass Coed Softball Tournament

The Ebbetts Pass Coed Softball Tournament will be held Aug. 24-25 at White Pines Lake. Entry fee is $300 per team with an Aug. 10 registration deadline. Three-game guarantee. For more information or to register, call Candace Miller at 728-5566 or Tom Owens at 795-1156.

Moke Hill 5K

Mokelumne Hill will be the site of the Rush for the Gold 5K Run/Walk and Festival, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 14. Entry fee for the 5K Run/Walk is $25 for adults and $15 for children ages 14 and under. 5K starts at 10 a.m. Event will also feature a barbecue, art fair, vendors, children’s games, wine tasting, live music, ping pong ball drop and a farmer’s market. All proceeds benefit the Mokelumne Hill Volunteer Firefighters and the Calaveras High Band Boosters. Entry forms available at mokehillfire.org. For more information, call Jane Hess at 286-1393.
