Louie Jobin scored on an 80-yard touchdown run on the first offensive play of the game and the Junior Redskins cruised from there. Logan Weatherby rushed for two touchdowns and connected on six extra-point kicks to lead Calaveras. Triston Madsen, Alfredo Estrada, Tanner Joses, Chase Jones, Kyle Byrd and Jaxon Zermeno each added rushing touchdowns.
“Our offensive line played a great game, opening up holes all day for our running backs,” Calaveras coach Mark Dunn said.
Defensively, the Junior Redskins did not allow a first down all game.
“It was a great start to the season, but we have our work cut out for us this Saturday against Ripon. We have a lot of new kids this year and Saturday’s game will be a true test this early in the season. Ripon beat Sonora 40-0 last weekend.”
