Adventist Health Sonora recently received a “B” rating from the Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grade.
The Leapfrog Group is a national organization with a mission to help improve health care. The different grades that can be awarded are an A, B, C, D or F. This safety rating is based on several different sets of criteria, including the hospital’s role in preventing medical errors, infections or other harms among patients who are in the hospital’s care.
The criteria evaluated for the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade includes 28 data sets that are publicly available, in conjunction with information submitted on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey. Some 2,600 hospitals in the United States are evaluated twice a year by the Leapfrog Group, based on feedback submitted on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey.
“During the last several months, our department of quality and infection prevention has led teams throughout the hospital to implement processes that meet The Leapfrog Group’s specific requirements,” Michelle Fuentes, president of Adventist Health Sonora, said in a press release. “I am extremely proud of our team’s work and commitment to providing the best possible care for our community.”
